As you can see from the crimes reported this month a number of items have been stolen, some of which were left insecure or in unlocked outbuildings. Hindsight is a wonderful thing as they and I'm sure those people unlucky enough to have had items stolen will be making attempts to secure their property in the future. Residents please consider how secure are you? So many crimes that get reported could be prevented with some simple security precautions. Lock your sheds, secure your bikes. Don't leave valuables on display in your cars and the windows wide open. It may seem like I'm being patronising but I'm not it's just these simple things may stop you becoming a victim of crime. It will also have the knock on effect that with less crimes to investigate I will have more time to be out on the streets where you want me to be.
On a final note we will soon be saying goodbye to PCSO Deronal or Kat as some of you will know her and PCSO McKenzie. Neither are leaving the force they are both being moved into Ely City due to staff movements over the whole East Cambs Neighbourhood team. However in their place will be PCSO Ian Hawkins who is coming to us from the Soham Beat area. Obviously being new to the area it will take him a little time to find his feet but he is a capable officer and will be able to pick up where the others leave off.
