The Harvest Show is Back

After a year's absence, the Swaffham Prior Autumn Show will be back on the afternoon of Saturday 11th September.

So, if you've been growing vegetables and want to show everyone how well you coped with the horrible weather conditions earlier in the year, this is your chance. If you haven't, there is still time to get out in the garden - now that nicer weather is here - and grow some prize-winning veg.

You can still sow beetroot, carrots, French beans, lettuce, radish and turnips. Alternatively you could get surplus plants from neighbours or buy them from plant centres; possibilities here are tomatoes, peppers, aubergines and squash. In addition to vegetables, fruit and flowers can also be exhibited.

If your talents lie more in the kitchen, you could try your hand at making cakes, preserves and wine.

Get the kids involved too. As well showing their vegetables, there are a couple of categories just for them.
