That Dog Show
Which we are all so eagerly anticipating!
The first thing that must be decided, fairly of course, is just what categories are going to be allowed in out very own Swaffham Prior Dog Show, we do not want just one dog to be running off with all the prizes! No, every dog must be given a fair chance to show his paces. So here are some ideas as a start.
- Best puller on lead. The editors cannot help but notice that there will be a great deal of competition for this highly coveted award, although it will only be fair to have a corresponding Wooden Spoon award for all those more elderly Slack Leads ....
- Best Pheasant Poacher
- Best Jumper Up and Down. Who's going to win then, who's going to win.....
- Best Beggar Note the "e" there readers, note the "e" . Yes, this will be an award for the dog, who in the opinion of the judges, is most likely to relieve them of the greatest number of chocolate biscuits, which are of course, so bad for them. Just like alcohol and tobacco is so bad for us, in fact.
- Best "Sound and Fury" Contest This will be a pairs event, and although this might seem like an unfair category, as being mostly related to entirely male dogs, we cannot help but notice that some other village dogs are really quite impressive.
These are a few ideas with which we can be running along with, anyway. But of course, we will need a Committee, and a great many meetings in the Red Lion, to ensure the very best outcome....... Any volunteers, please get in touch with Kate Child
