Become a Quest Seeker
...and join us on a fantastical journey!
Quest Seekers is the 2009 Summer Reading Challenge which you can take part in
with Cambridgeshire Libraries.
Every year Cambridgeshire Libraries runs a summer reading game which challenges children to read six books over the summer holidays. This year's challenge 'Quest Seekers' is all about the power of the imagination, taking you on a journey into a mysterious and wondrous land. Your Quest is to help three children - Raj, Belle and Louis to bring back a golden book. To do this you will have to take on three tasks: Firebird Rising, Mountain Mission and Dragon's Lair. Can you read enough books to complete the challenge and find the golden book?
How Does It Work?
Sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge at your local library. We'll give you a special Quest Seeker's fold out poster to keep.
Read six books over the holidays and you'll work your way through the three tasks by collecting stickers to complete the pictures on your poster. We'll also give you a moving image card to keep track of the books you have read.
There are other things to collect along the way, such as a dragon bookmark, activity sheets and a dragon model to make.
All children who read at least six books, so completing the challenge, will receive a certificate and medal at a special presentation ceremony at the library in September. There are activity sessions in Burwell library every Tuesday morning at 10.30 during the holidays. We'd also love to hear what you think about the books you have read.
You can join Quest Seekers at any Cambridgeshire library including the mobile. Don't forget that joining the library doesn't cost anything and you can borrow up to 12 books at a time - FOR FREE!
'Quest Seekers'enrolment begins on Saturday 18th July (you can also enrol after this date) and the challenge must be completed by Saturday 5th Sept.
