Bus Business

Dear Editors

After everyone had finished fighting to save services on the No 10 bus service an astonishing statement was made by the Managing Director of Stagecoach.

In the Cambridge News of 25 November, Andy Campbell said "Services do occasionally run late due to things like roadworks, but as for services not running at all, that?s just not something that happens to be honest."

Everyone who uses the bus, whether frequently or infrequently, knows that buses sometimes do not turn up - to be honest.

Mr Campbell would like more facts. If you are a bus user please let the Editors know your own experience and it matters not whether you live in Reach, Burwell, Bulbeck or Prior. Just a brief note with your name and village would do, and especially useful would be the date and time of the missing bus.

This is also a chance for the seriously aggrieved to rant and rave in a longer letter.

Or is Mr Campbell correct in what he says?

Anyone for Cards?

Dear Editora,

Do any readers enjoy playing card games? Would they be interested in a regular get-together with other card players?

I'm not looking for a league or anything heavy, rather an evening centred around playing cards with a bit of chat, couple of drinks and a few nibbles.

I would be particularly interested if anyone who would like to make up a four for Canasta, but am happy to play other games (though I might need to learn some of them!).

If this sounds like something you might like to do give me a call.

Coffee Morning 15th January

Dear Editors,

A Big Thank-you to all those who helped and those who came and supported our annual coffee morning. All agreed it was one of the best ever. A special thank-you to Caroline Matheson who made us all so welcome to her home. It was a goods opportunity to meet up with villagers, especially those who have recently joined us and on top of that we made a profit of £205.
