Tell us if your collection is up to standard

From January, residents of East Cambs only need cone number to call about their recycling and rubbish collection. The District Council is using its most recognisable number, 01353 665555, as a helpline for anyone who has a query, comment or complaint about their waste collectionxs. Whether it be when their sack wasn;t devered or a complijment about the service, then there will be specially trained officers on hand to help The helpline is staffed from 8.45 to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8.45am to 4.30pm Friday, and the Council is committed to responding to queries as soon as it can.

The Credit Crunch

On January 8th, the Council help an important Members Seminar on the impact of the Credit Crunch on the Copuncil and the local economy. The event followed the puiblication of aspecial review by the Chief Executivce of East Cambs Council that was presented to the Overview and Scrutising Committee last December.

The Seminar, which was included elected representatives from neighbouring South Cambridgeshire, focused on what the Council could do to minimise the impact of the economic downturn on our local community. Many of the contributions focused on provision of affordable housing, transport and support for Citizens Advice Bureaux and other voluntary groups offering helop and guidance. All these, plus other ideas, will be incorporated into an Action Plan which will be presented to Policy and Resource Committee.
