The Swaffham Crier Online

Editorial

AT LAST, THE DECEMBER CRIER! We're a bit late, but one Good Thing about this is that it means we'll have a genuine New Year's Crier (usually we have to pretend, since we need to put it together just about now). So copy date is Christmas Day, and we won't go to print until January 4th.

Another Good Thing is that it gives us the opportunity to say goodbye to Red Lion publicans Bob and Wendy, who've just found out that their last night in charge of the pub will be Thursday, December 10.

As readers will know, Bob and Wendy stepped in just before Christmas last year, seamlessly took up the reins and have done a great job ever since in maintaining a warm and welcoming Red Lion through all the rollicking financial ups and downs that have seen off far bigger concerns. New owners (Batemans) are a Lincolnshire brewery, and have a very high reputation for their beer and also the standard of their pubs, so we're hoping, we're hoping! But we're going to miss Bob and Wendy, who did a brilliant job when no-one-else could: here's wishing them all the very best for the future!

See you Adventing next week, and Village Hall Carolling the week after (don't miss this!) starting here, of course:

We Wish you a Merry Christmas,

A Very Merry Prior Christmas

We Wish you a Merry Christmas

At the End of the Year!

Happy Christmas from all the Crier team!,
