Pub Quiz raises 900 pounds for Alzheimer's
ALL LAST YEAR, Graham Wiltshire and Steve Kent-Phillips ran quizzes at the Black Horse and Red Lion respectively and raised money for the Alzheimer's Society. The Black Horse ran a Christmas Draw and several other fund-raising events too. A combined cheque for £900 was presented to the Alzheimer's Society local reps at the Black Horse Quiz held on Sunday, 17th February.
Steve's quiz is held on the last Tuesday of each month in the Red Lion from 8.00 pm, for teams of any number up to five at a pound a head. There are multiple bottles of champagne for the winners and runners-up, plus "Steve's Spot Prize"of a bottle of pink champagne awarded totally at random. This year all the monies raised by both pubs will go to the Macmillan Cancer Support Fund.
