Harvest Supper 2008
NEARLY 80 PEOPLE of all ages attended the annual Harvest Supper on Saturday 4 October. Drinks from the bar were followed by a relaxed meal of ham and turkey, home-made bread and a wonderful range of salads, and a mouth-watering selection of puddings. This year's entertainment was interactive - a mini singing workshop led by Cath Coombs. Tina Jost's beautiful oil painting was auctioned by Andrew Noyes and the Vicar announced the winners of the highly desirable raffle prizes.
A huge number of people contribute to an event of this kind and we would like to thank: Tina Jost for donating the painting for auction; all who donated raffle prizes - Catherine Wrench, Claire Snaith, Lindsey Raja, The Red Lion, Waitrose, the Willmott family, Pru and Clifton Mead and Jo Pumfrey; Cath Coombs for the entertainment; Jennifer and David for washing up; Pat and Peter Cook for running the bar; Gerry and Karen King for providing the bread; all who donated salads - Justeen Lankfer, Jane Blanks, Shirley Wilkins, Brenda Wilson, Jill Jordan, Linda Evans, Kaye Lewinski, Ann Zeid, Mandy Kingsmill, Jo Pumfrey, Dee Noyes; Ruth Dalton for staffing the door; William and Thomas for helping with the tables; Grace, Helena, Maddie, Bella and Emily for helping with the raffle. Together we raised £343 for St Mary's Church funds, and the auction and raffle proceeds of £151 will go to the local Diocese.
