WI Notes
The Speaker at the October meeting was Jim Henderson who gave a very thought
provoking talk about his experience as a doctor on secondment to the Atomic
Casualty Commission in Hiroshima in 1954 studying late side effects in
survivors of the bombing in 1945. Jim explained differences between the
Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs, how the geography of the two sites resulted in
differences in the way the populations were affected and how the outcomes were
not all as expected.
In November the speaker will be Paula Dollan with an entertaining talk entitled 'A funny thing happened...'
