A Call to all Poets
READERS WERE OFFERED the opportunity to add another verse to that old favourite I'm dreaming of a White Christmas, with the enviable chance of having it premiered at the Village Hall Carol Singing. Here's one hopeful entry from Skye:
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas,
With holly and some mistletoe.
Whilst Christmas trees get dearer,
As Christmas Day gets nearer
Snow still is both cheap and white; so--
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas,
With every mince pie that I bite.
May your pastries turn out sweet and light,
And may all your Christmas cakes be white.
