Very Boring Talk at Scouts
ON WEDNESDAY, February 21st, in the School Hall, Scouts could hardly keep their eyes open as Crier Editor Caroline Matheson and long time "real boss" Ruth Stinton attempted to explain at some length all about how the Crier came about. Said one scout, "The talk started at 8 o'clock, but six hours later, I looked at my watch, and it was only quarterpast!".
Things only looked up when Scouts decided to cover the meeting for the March Crier themselves, which, thanks to the very kind loan of the school's dataprojector, was there in preparation ready for uploading. Here it is:
Ryan Noyes was asleep in the corner while Ben Jeacock was in the girls toilets and Parker Hodge sat twiddling his thumbs. In all it set a world record for world's most boring speech. Natasha Jeacock and Molly Doe were sitting in the corner thinking about their make-up. Eliza Raja was falling asleep on Chelsea Oliver. James Hill was playing on his mobile and texting his mates. Abbie Jeacock was dreaming about little aliens on a different planet..
In the end, great fun was had by all, although time ran short and the photographer should have held onto his job more tenaciously - some excellent snaps were over-written at the last minute! Many thanks to Francis Reekes who chaired the meeting, Mandy Kingsmill, whose legendary proof-reading came in useful, and some very good-humoured reportersin- the-making Scouts!
