Falling numbers of swimmers are making it very difficult for Bottisham Pool to sustain the many varied sessions and classes currently on offer. So please help to make sure that the SWIMMING POOL STAYS OPEN FOR THE COMMUNITY
BOTTISHAM Swimming Pool has plenty to offer whether you are new to the water or are a streamlined lane swimmer. This popular indoor community pool is a registered charity, open all year round and independently managed by a small committee of volunteer trustees. The warm water pool is 25 metres long by 10 metres wide and offers a variety of sessions and classes to suit swimmers of all ages and abilities.
Centre manager, Jill Pellegrini, says: "Swimming is one of the best overall exercises for all levels of fitness, it is excellent for cardio-vascular and most muscle group workouts. The non-swimmer can just come along and have some fun or maybe take a few very private one-to-ono swimming lessons with one of our experienced instructors: they will be amazed at how quickly their confidence will grow.
"In addition to the coached lane swims, life-saving courses which include invaluable first aid are also available for the advanced swimmer. Parties and fun swims are very popular with children."
Bottisham Swimming Pool has received much praise from its customers. One visitor says: "All four of my family use this facility. Exercise is an Important part of our lives and because of the long opening hours and varied sessions we are easily able to fit this into our busy lives."
The pool committee also manages the "dryside" sports facilities on behalf of Bottisham Village College, including the well equipped Bodytone Fitness Suite. Extensive holiday activities are also offered at the centre including soccer clubs and activity days. All the facilities can be booked by private or business groups and there are modern changing rooms and disabled facilities. Swimmers can take advantage of reduced rates on all general entry fees (not classes) throughout September and October.
