St Cyriac's Development - Latest News
IT WAS A PLEASURE to see so many of you at Ian De Massini's excellent
recital on September 10th in aid of St Cyriac's. Thanks to your generosity,
£114 was raised via the retiring collection.
At the concert I was able to update people about the development and progress of the Trust's plans for the church. For the benefit of those of you who were not able to join us, I would like to take this opportunity to do so again.
We are now finishing preparations for our next programme of work at the church and hope to start work within this financial year. We will be installing under-floor heating, enhancing the electrics, fitting lighting, putting a small discreet kitchenette in the south transept and providing a portable folding screen (which will be the height of the dado rail) in the north transept to screen the chairs.
Hopefully these adaptations should make all the difference and encourage a few more people to use the church as well as benefit its long-standing, hardy users!
You may also be interested to know that I have recently heard from the Arabesque Trust, the new owners of St Cyriac's organ. The charity has now repaired the instrument and several blind organists are taking great pleasure in playing it.
As always, if you would like to talk to me about St Cyriac's, please do get in contact.
Thank you for your support. I look forward to continuing to work with you in 2007.
