WI Notes
The 8th December was the night of the W.I. Christmas party. We all assembled in
the Village Hall for sherry in our party gear, the committee wearing
head-dresses as befitted the occasion. The competition for a Christmas table
decoration was judged and this year the cup was won by Germaine Pritchard. Then
followed a sumptious meal with wine flowing (those driving were careful how
much they drank, I can't speak for the others!).
While we were still relaxed, we listened to a recording of items by Richard Stilgoe and Peter Skellern including the song about the W.I. Calendar which had us all laughing away, and the evening finished with games. We then wished everyone a happy Christmas and wended our way home.
Our very grateful thanks to Sheila Smith who did all the washing-up for us, a mammoth task.
The next meeting is on Monday 19th January when Geoff Evans will give us an illustrated talk on his holidays in Scotland.
